My thought about Buddhism
What I love about this university is how we study about other religions, and I liked Buddhism. I’m a Sunni Muslim, and I don’t believe in Buddhism, but I loved the kindness in it. Especially when I read about the Dalai Lama, “The Dalai Lamas are believed to be manifestations of Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and the patron saint of Tibet. Bodhisattvas are believed to be enlightened beings who have postponed their own nirvana and chosen to take rebirth in order to serve humanity.” (Lion’s Roar). I learned that the Dalai Lama daily routine is to Meditate exercise and study every day. What a healthy and beautiful life! I also learned that he wrote over 70 books which shows his love for sharing his knowledge and wisdom. His teachings are fundamental, and it focuses on having a good heart and living a compassionate life, and that’s what I want to have and live.
Buddhism is a religion that focuses on meditation, kindness, positivity and that’s what the Dalai Lama is trying to spread to people's heart’s around the world while he travels and gives speeches. That what is important to him. The Dalai Lama didn’t even try to convert people to be Buddhist but what he seeks is to spread happiness and positivity and awareness, and that’s what the world needs now. That’s what I want from life! In Islam, I believe that it is a peaceful religion and when I pray I feel very calm and positive. I love meditation and awareness, and that’s what makes me interested to know more about Buddhism.
In conclusion, The world is filled with hatred, racism, and prejudice. Buddhism is filled with positivity and meditation and awareness; The world needs the Dalai Lama’s teachings to be taught in schools. His books need to be spread to help the people who need it. They don’t need to convert to Buddhism but to learn about the Dalai Lama’s teachings will help them greatly.
